Gong Fu Cha — A Beginner’s Tea Ritual
There’s a way of making tea that turns a simple leaf into a conversation.
Gong fu cha is the Chinese practice of brewing tea with care — small
vessels, short infusions, and full attention. Each pour reveals a new
layer. The same leaf tastes different the third time, the fifth time,
the seventh time. You don’t just drink it. You listen to it.
This workshop is for people who have never tried gong fu cha — or have
always been curious on high quality but didn’t know where to start.
What happens
—
You’ll taste three carefully chosen teas — each from a different world.
A light oolong that opens like spring.
A roasted tea with depth and warmth.
An aged tea that carries time in every sip.
With each tea, we’ll explore a new layer of perception:
aroma, taste, mouthfeel, and the quiet aftertaste the Chinese
call hui gan — the sweetness that returns.
You’ll hold a gaiwan in your hands, pour your own tea, and
discover that the ritual is simpler than it looks.
What to bring
—
Just yourself. We provide everything else.
